Skate

9:30a – Meet at Kincaid. The chalet will most likely be closed. Intensity day. We are going to do some longer intervals will shorter rest. 5-6 x 3-4min at level 3 (race pace) with 1 min rest. The goal is not to go as fast as you can for 3-4 minutes, but instead to focus on what your race pace is and try to mimic that pace for the interval. This helps with pacing which is key for interval start races.

On your own. Those of you who are not already participating in some sort of a club program over the break, Alaska Nordic Racing is hosting a winter break ski camp Sunday Dec. 27th through Wednesday Dec. 30th. Many coaches will be helping with this camp including junior national coaches and high school coaches from around the state. If you are interested in attending the camp, please email coach Normandin by Wednesday December 23rd. Also, you will need a registration form and a release form. For more information visit the Alaska Nordic Racing website. This might be a great opportunity to hear what other coaches have to say about skiing and learn some tricks from them as well. Bring the forms and the check to the first day of camp.
