| Besh Cup races |

| Video + Pictures |
Now that the Lynx Loppet is over, I am looking for a parent or 5 that would be interested in taking pictures and/or video taping during races. I have a video camera that can be used for this task. The next race we might video at would be the Skiathlon at Kincaid. This incorporates both techniques and would be nice to get shots of the skiers.
Also, if you have (digital) photos of the event(s) that you would like to share or you would like to take photos, please send them my way as I can post a thumbnail of the photo on the website and the team could possibly use it for the end of season banquet.

| Biathlon |
I met with Rachel Steer today, an Olympic biathlete. Biathlon is a winter sport where you alternate cross country skiing and shooting targets with a .22 rifle. She will be coming to talk with the Dimond High ski team some time in January as well as help us run a biathlon race at school (running and shooting). Tentatively, she will be coming to talk with the team Tuesday January 19th.
Parents, if you would like to come meet Rachel and watch the athletes run the biathlon, you are more than welcome.
We will be using the rifle range upstairs in the pool at Dimond High as well as running outside for the biathlon. We will meet in the old gym foyer to talk with Ms. Steer. |

I found this document on the ANR website and I believe it a good summary of ideas for training. It also uses definitions some athletes on the team used during the year. If you didn't understand what they were saying, this document defines Levels and Periodization.
I have edited it a little bit to fix some typos. But here is the document:
